You'll need wide-tooth comb, detangling brush, snag-free hair elastic, soft-bristle brush, detangler spray, fine-mist water bottle, sectioning clip. For curly and coily hair, also leave-in conditioner.

Like a French plait, but each section crosses under the middle instead of over, creating a raised ridge that stands out from the head.

Her job

She feels for the ridge and tells you when it appears.

What the steps cover

  1. Detangle first
  2. Smooth the surface
  3. Take a starting section at the very top of her head
  4. Divide into three and do the opening cross
  5. Add a strip on each side and cross under
  6. Continue to the tip
  7. Secure the end

The full steps, with a picture for each and what to check before you move on, are in the app, in Beyond the Ponytail, with the curly and coily method where it differs.
