Making a part
Follow the bone, not your eye.
Every step in the free app links to the technique it uses.

Why it matters
A line judged by eye tends to drift, because you're working from behind with no fixed point to check against. The center seam of her skull is a real landmark you can feel with a fingertip, so following it gives a straighter line with far less guesswork, and it's in the same place every time.
How to do it
- Feel for the center seam of her skull with a fingertip before you commit the comb to it.
- Run the comb's tail from her crown to her nape, following that seam rather than judging a straight line by eye.
- If the line wanders, wet the comb and run it back along the same seam once.
How to check it's right
- Running a fingertip along the part from front to back, it sits on the seam the whole way.
- A part that wanders half a centimeter, which is invisible to everyone but you.
Common mistakes
- Judging the line by eye instead of feeling for the seam first. This is the single biggest reason a part drifts off-center.
- Going over it more than once. One re-run with a wet comb is normal; chasing a perfectly straight line after that usually makes it worse, not better.

Do this in the app
The page tells you how. The app does four things a page cannot:
- Her hair, not hair in general. Choose Straight, Wavy, Thick, Curly or Coily under "her hair today" and the steps and pictures change to the method for her hair.
- A check before every step. Each step ends with what it should look and feel like, so you know it is right before you move on.
- Fix It, mid-style. When something is not right, "Something's not right" opens the fix for it without leaving the step.
- The diary. Add a photo and a note when you finish, and see what you have done and what to try next.
